SipForm Shortlisted for Award

Our 'File to Factory to Site' process has been shortlisted for an innovation Award!!

While Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) construction is well known, SipForm have established a technological advancement in Virtual Design
and Construction (VDC). Our system adopts the true meaning of ‘File to Factory’, though we have expanded this concept to encompass the installation, or as we term it; ‘File to Factory to Site’.

The system significantly reduces time in detailing, manufacture and installation. It seriously creates the most time efficient model of construction, ever!

From receipt of the design from the Architect or Designer, our team rapidly form up a 3D model using our parametric components.

Even from an initial sketch design, SipForm can model, cost and provide feedback on potential saving measures quickly.

Our components feature colour coded critical visual references and feedbacks that help to expedite modelling and ensure any random errors in detailing are visually obvious and highlighted. Data exported from the completed 3D model is assigned directly to labels for each component within the build.

These labels are applied to EPS blanks, either; ‘exact to size for standard height walls’ or ‘closest to size for any panel to be raked’, this ensures any waste from manufacture is kept to a minimum.

These label files are delivered directly to the factory to commence fabrication while our digital designers complete all documentation required for the installation.

Our parametric modelling provides accurate bottom plate and anchor locations. Plates can be set out on-site, anchored and marked with panel numbers preceding their delivery. Once all components are on-site, the labelling system serves to provide their location and orientation within the build.

With a fully pre-tested design we can manufacture, deliver and complete the installation of all walls to the average sized home in within two weeks from the order being placed. Mindful that;

All installations include cladding, lining, insulation and finishing, ready for windows and doors.

The lightness and ease of panel fabrication coupled with our low cost set up for customisation, means the system lends itself to low staffed satellite factories. This ensures shorter transport distances and a lower resulting carbon footprint.

We are in negotiations to establish several satellite factories, both on the East Coast, New Zealand (commencing soon) and Mauritius. We are also looking to expand to other regions of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the intent is to export panels that can be readily customised at minimal costs of labour and workplace.

The system provides such advantages in manufacture that it may be deployed anywhere quickly and easily similarly to a kit home.

For any national builder, we will be in a position to deploy prefabricated designs through any of our licensees using our model of ‘File to Factory to Site’.

Benefits: Our Multi-Clad SIP System

With the introduction of Weathertex as an external cladding, we can supply a number of sustainable board finishes in either; natural or pre-primed and in a range of textured or smooth grooved finish.

Weathertex is formed from wood pulp and a wax additive to assist in repelling water. SipForm is the only supplier of panels utilising this ‘Green Tag’ Australian made board product.

Where a client chooses a smooth rendered finish, panels are laminated externally with Fibre Cement.

All panels are finished internally with Fibre Cement. Here panels are recessed along their vertical edges to permit a flush jointed level 5 internal finish.

Benefits: SipForm System as a Performance Envelope

While our system does not include any thermal mass, the envelope created is of significant R value while thermal bridging is, for the most, eliminated. Thermal mass can be introduced to any design with a tiled concrete floor slab, or with the introduction of mass to selected internal walls through a number of methods.

R Values of external wall panels (135mm external panel): 3.15 Super Insulate / 3.72 Super Graphite

While the EPS core material does have some environment cost, it serves as a high performance insulator that saves considerably more energy over its lifetime than results from production.
The blowing or expanding agent Pentane, is not considered a greenhouse gas, nor is it ozone depleting.

Benefits: Production, Transport, Installation & Completion

The true benefits of the system are seen from a building delivery aspect in the detailing, costing, file to factory and factory to site concept that creates a seamless end to end building process:
